Kaleesuwari Refineries has signed an MoU with a leading US Consultant Robert M.Pierce , Fats & Oils Refining Consultant Inc in the presence of Sri G.M. Samy, Chairman and Managing Director and Sri M. Arun Director, Kaleesuwari Refinery Private limited to add value to the Gold Winner Sunflower Oil brand – the No:1 Sunflower oil brand in India. The MoU gets significance as this is a first of its kind agreement signed by an Indian edible oil manufacturer with a US consultant to assess and improve the process and product characteristics that are important to the consumers and institutions.

As per the MoU, Mr. Robert M.Pierce will do an extensive study of Kaleesuwari Refinery manufacturing facilities and Gold Winner refined sunflower oil and will suggest ways to improve the existing process and product characteristics and also develop new products that can be positioned on the Gold Winner for Health or G for H platform. One such concept involves the launch of vitamin enriched sunflower seeds as natural snack foods.

“Kaleesuwari Refinery shall be going for the acquisition of the expensive Inductively Coupled Plasma (ICP ) analyzer to analyse and record the measurements of various elements even at parts per billion levels. Kaleesuwari shall be using these inputs in further improving its process so that the end products are truly bench mark products in the world . “ says Shri Sethuramachandran , General Manager – Technical.

Ltd. adds “It is a scientifically proven fact that sunflower seeds are the largest source of vitamin E and sunflower oil contains the essential fatty acids or EFA. More over they are excellent in performance as a deep frying medium. This is why Frito Lays of USA converted to sunflower oil for their deep frying operations world wide. Mr. Robert .M. Peirce was referred to Kaleesuwari Refineries by National Sunflower Oil Association (NSA), USA. Mr. Peirce has over 50 years experience in sunflower and soya refining industry and has worked with many International refineries. National Sunflower Oil Association or NSA of USA is the pioneering organization for the promotion of sunfloweroil in the world and Gold Winner is the first Indian brand to be extensively associated with NSA to promote the growth of this naturally healthy oil.

Kaleesuwari Refinery Pvt Ltd is an ISO 9001:2000 & HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points) certified company with a manufacturing plant in Vengaivasal near Chennai. The unit has close to 1000 tonnes production capacity per day. They have recently taken over the KLN Agro factory at Tumkur, Karnataka and the South India Viscose( SIV) Oil unit near Palani each with 100 tonnes production capacity per day for augmenting the growing demand for their products.
